Decode Your Success Code: Exploring the Technologies of the Future

A six-legged robot walking across the classroom, excited faces, and an atmosphere of technological discovery — this was the scene at the “Decode Your Success Code” workshop held on March 19 at Kyiv Lyceum No. 176 named after Miguel de Cervantes.

The event brought together 24 students who had a unique opportunity to first explore their personal values and interests, and then see how those interests can come to life in real-world careers — at the intersection of technology, engineering, art, and entrepreneurship.

Know Yourself to Choose Your Future

The first part of the workshop focused on deep self-discovery.
Participants completed a specially designed career test that helped them identify four key elements of successful professional self-determination:

  • Natural abilities: discovering innate talents and strengths that can form the foundation for a future career.
  • Personal values: identifying what truly matters in work and life — to choose fields that bring fulfillment and meaning.
  • Areas of interest: exploring what sparks genuine curiosity and motivation.
  • Acquired skills: analyzing what knowledge and competencies they already possess that can serve as their competitive advantage.

By combining these four components, each student created their own personal “career compass”, helping them navigate toward meaningful professional choices.

Meeting the Hexapod “Kulia”

The highlight of the day was a visit from Olia Zota, co-founder and CEO of UkraineRobotics — a STEM ambassador with over 12 years of experience in project management, technological innovation, and creative team leadership.

Olia didn’t come empty-handed — she brought along “Kulia,” a six-legged robot (hexapod) built by her team.
This unique creation became a vivid example of how engineering, art, and innovation can merge into a single creative project.

Students not only got to observe the robot in action, but also interact with it, learning about the technologies behind its movement and design.

Participant Impressions

Meeting a successful woman entrepreneur in the high-tech field inspired and motivated many participants.
Students shared that the workshop helped them see the broader world of professions and understand the importance of developing both technical and communication skills.

  • “I came thinking it would be a boring lecture, but it turned out completely different! The event was amazing, with such a comfortable atmosphere. I learned a lot of new things — everything was great!” — shared one participant.
  • “A wonderful meeting. I liked everything. I got to understand myself better,” — said another student.
  • “This was another good step toward understanding myself,” — summarized one participant.

The project was implemented with the support of UNICEF Ukraine.
