How can technical knowledge work hand in hand with marketing strategies? Why do solar panels and wind turbines need not only engineers but also communicators? And most importantly — how can young people find their place in an industry that helps save the planet?
These were the key questions explored during the career guidance workshop “Decode Your Success Code”, held on March 20 at the Kyiv Mechanical and Technological Vocational College. The event brought together 28 first-year students, giving them a unique opportunity to better understand themselves and explore the future of Ukraine’s renewable energy sector.
The workshop began with the most important step — discovering personal strengths and superpowers. Students identified their natural talents, clarified their values, explored what truly inspires them, and analyzed the knowledge they already possess.
Through interactive exercises, participants built their own professional compass to navigate the sea of career opportunities. Many were surprised to uncover skills and interests they hadn’t noticed before — or to realize that their technical background could open doors in completely unexpected fields.
The special guest of the workshop was Tymur Yakymenko, Marketing Director at Atmosfera — a company specializing in green renewable energy. His talk sparked great interest among students, as this field is not only rapidly developing in Ukraine but also plays a strategic role in the country’s energy independence and sustainable future.
Tymur shared how combining technical education with marketing expertise can lead to powerful career opportunities. He spoke about his own professional journey and explained why understanding a product’s technical side provides a huge advantage in marketing. For many participants, this insight opened up new horizons — showing that communication and technology can complement one another to create meaningful impact.
The career workshop at the Kyiv Mechanical and Technological Vocational College became an inspiring milestone for students. It helped them rethink their potential, discover career paths in renewable energy, and see this field not only as technologically promising but also as a socially responsible direction for the future.
The project was implemented with the support of UNICEF Ukraine.
