Self-Care is not a weakness: teen tips for World Mental Health Day

On October 10, the world celebrates World Mental Health Day — a date that reminds us of the importance of taking care of our inner well-being.

In a world full of challenges, information overload, stress, and tension, the ability to recognize your emotions, talk about them, and allow yourself to feel them becomes especially valuable. Equally important is reaching out for help when things get hard — and accepting the support others offer. These small steps are where the path to resilience and balance begins.

To mark World Mental Health Day, we asked teenagers what advice they would give to each of us.

What Teens Advise:

  • “Your emotions matter. You are valuable, even when it’s hard. Allow yourself to be human — with mistakes, emotions, and dreams.” — Yana, 15
  • “If you need to — don’t be afraid to ask for help from people you trust: relatives, friends, psychologists, teachers. If you don’t have such people right now or need extra support — come to Misto Syly, where you’ll be heard and accepted.” — Maria, 17
  • “Look for positive things in everything and just enjoy life.” — Sofia, 15
  • “Find the people and things you love — and do what makes you happy.” — Sonia, 14

Where to Find Support

We invite teenagers aged 10–17 to Place of Power — a space where you can get help from qualified psychologists, learn to understand yourself better, and find your inner strength.

Here, we offer a variety of therapeutic and restorative activities: courses, trainings, creative workshops, discussion clubs, and meetings with psychologists and experts. Every visitor can find something meaningful for themselves and choose a direction that fits their needs and interests.

👉 Visit our website to register for events — we’re waiting for you at Place of Power!
