On July 2, a charity concert “EU Lawyers for Ukraine” took place in Brussels, organized by our friends and partners from Ensemble Ukraine. The event gathered over 600 guests and united 36 sponsors, who together raised a record-breaking ₴8.5 million (around €176,000) to support Ukraine.
This concert became a landmark moment of large-scale support for Ukrainian initiatives in Brussels. This year’s event was dedicated to the memory of Ivan Yaremchuk, a former student of the Brussels School of Competition, who died defending Ukraine. The concert also honored all those who gave their lives for freedom and European values.
The evening featured performances by Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Udovychenko, laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. Among the guests was Vsevolod Chentsov, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union.
The charity evening was not just about music — it was about unity, empathy, and concrete help. All funds raised during the concert will go toward three vital causes in Ukraine:
At the previous Brussels charity concert, €150,000 was raised — part of which was donated to Dobrodiy Club to create the Place of Power, a therapeutic recovery space for teenagers living through the trauma of war.
“It gives us immense hope to see how people unite for a greater cause in such challenging times. We are deeply grateful to our partners and friends from Ensemble Ukraine for their contribution and unwavering support. Together, we’ll keep helping Ukraine’s young generation find inner resilience and rebuild their strength in today’s difficult reality.” said Mariia Todorchuk, founder of Dobrodiy Club.
During the concert, Dobrodiy Club organized a charity auction featuring paintings and bracelets created by teenagers from the Place of Power space.
The art corner quickly became a highlight of the evening — guests gathered to admire the works, bid on items, and talk to the team. Some lots even had small queues forming!
This heartfelt initiative gave even more people a chance to contribute directly to life-changing projects for Ukrainian teens.
“It’s incredibly moving to see our efforts transform into real help for Ukraine. We raised a record 8.5 million UAH, uniting 600 guests and 36 businesses — despite the decreasing media attention to Ukraine. Events like this are not only about building cultural bridges between Ukraine and Europe — they’re also a vital reminder that the war continues, and support still matters.” shared Anastasiia Usova, Co-President of Ensemble Ukraine.
Dobrodiy Club is sincerely grateful to Ensemble Ukraine for their partnership and for making us part of this unforgettable event. This evening once again proved: culture and shared values unite people even in the most difficult times.
It’s a true example of Ukrainians abroad coming together — for Ukraine’s future.
